COMPENSATED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS

Compensated Emergency Medical Technicians of the Fire District who work on a regularly scheduled or on an as-needed daily basis.

Full-Time EMTs work a 40-Hour week

Part-Time EMTs work a 24-hour week 

Per Diem EMTs work a variable schedule based on their availability submitted

Per Diem Job Announcement

EMTs provide emergency medical care for the residents of our communities and neighboring communities as needed through mutual-aid.  EMTs are certified as a NJ State EMT and are also trained in CPR as well as CEVO-Ambulance. Some are additionally trained in trauma life support skills and in handling emergencies involving pediatric patients.  Compensation for this position is highly competitive and is commensurate with a number of factors.  Work schedules include day shifts, night shifts, weekends and holidays.

District EMTs operate modern apparatus and equipment and are provided with all necessary equipment and uniforms.   EMTs not only provide Emergency Medical care but also act in support of the Fire Division at fire and rescue scenes.
