Per Diem Emergency Medical Technicians are compensated employees of the Fire District who work on an as-needed daily basis. Per Diem EMTs provide emergency medical care for the residents of our communities and neighboring communities as needed through mutual-aid. Per Diem EMTs are certified as a NJ State EMT and are also trained in CPR as well as CEVO-Ambulance. Some are additionally trained in advanced trauma life support skills and in handling emergencies involving pediatric patients.
Per Diem personnel train and re certify their skills in an ongoing basis.
Compensation for this position is highly competitive and is commensurate with your training levels and years of experience with the District. Work schedules include day shifts, nigh shifts, weekends and holidays.
Per Diem EMTs operate modern apparatus and equipment and are provided with all necessary equipment and uniforms. Per Diem staff members not only provide Emergency Medical care but also act in support of the Fire Division at fire and rescue scenes.
Per Diem EMTs are eligible for additional training, including ITLS, PEPP, PHTLS and various Rescue and Rehabilitation courses.
